How do I change the factory code to a personal code?

Home and Fire

1. Use the first time  instructions above to open your safe

2. Press the red (it might be black) button, located on the inside of your safe door, one time

3. Keeping the safe door open, enter in the new code you have chosen ex. 1234

*This new code can be up to 8 digits long home safes, 6 digits for fire safes, but does not have to be*

4. Press # after entering the code you have chosen

5. Test your new code with the door OPEN at least 3 times. Make sure after you put in the code that you are still turning the handle as if your door was closed. **It is very important to make sure that you try this with the door open. If for some reason the code didn’t accept properly and your door is closed, the code cannot be reset again, you will need to contact a locksmith**

n For office safes, the bolts will not move back in without triggering the button on the left hand side, this is normal.

6. If you make a mistake while entering your personal code, it will flash ERROR on the screen. As a safety feature, you can try up to 3 times before WAIT will appear on your screen and it will start beeping. If this occurs, don’t panic, it will beep for three minutes. Do NOT take out the batteries to stop this beeping because as soon as you put them back in it will start beeping again.

7. Once that lock out mode has finished, you can try entering * your new code # again.
